Adopt digital tools and innovative techniques to advance manufacturing growth
Supporting SME manufacturing businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to implement digital adoption tools, techniques and practices to achieve accelerated growth, improved performance and productivity.
Digitisation for Manufacturers (D4M) will support eligible* businesses to:
  • create a pathway to greater use of digital systems within manufacturing environments.
  • provides employees with hands-on digital skills and enhance digital confidence.
  • improve their systems and processes.
  • boost productivity and enhance profit margins.
With an experienced team of manufacturing and software specialists, support is available to manufacturing SMEs at any level of digital maturity to exploit their potential through a blend of diagnostic tools, 1:1 advice, face-to-face workshops, peer group learning and technical solution implementation support.

Working in partnership with the University of Cambridge and their Institute for Manufacturing, the D4M programme uses the groundbreaking “Shoestring” approach – a methodology specifically designed to make digital adoption more accessible and understandable for SME businesses. The process uses off-the-shelf components to create simple and effective digital solutions.

For businesses with more complex digital adoption requirements, the programme provides specialist tailored support in scoping bespoke digital solutions.
